1967 Ford Mustang GT Fastback
Modified Lego set 10265
I bought this set. It has nice design but the rear lights weren't
tilted and it was too narrow compared to the length.
I tried to make it look better so I made some changes
just like I changed the VW Camper set
, the Mini Cooper set
and the James Bond's Aston Martin set .
|
The pictures of the original set are marked with "O" and the modified version with "M".

The modified version is 1 stud longer behind the rear wheel.

The modified version is 2 studs wider and the rear window is longer.
The ratio of length to width is now better.

I added a ventilation window.

Side marker lights.

I scratched a little black paint with a knife so that the frame
of the horse is more visible. The grille is 2 stud wider and the extra
lights are old clikits-parts.

I made a frame for the windscreen.

I tilted the tail panel and made the chromeplated batten go all the way from side to side.

The rear window was too small so I made it longer.

Then the interior. I moved the front seats 2 studs forward and shortened the
steering wheel axle. The dashboard was missing the center part of the visor
and the speedometer and the tachometer were too small.

I changed the distributor cap to more realistic looking part (the black
round one between the radiator and the air filter).

I added the shock absorber towers and a yellow oil stick.

I also added the brake servo and the main cylinder.
