1970 Dodge Challenger
I had modified the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro set and made the car longer..

The top view looked a bit odd.
It seemd that the car was too narrow comparing to the length of it.
|
So, I made it 2 studs wider.
The original width.
|
2 studs wider.
|
But the grill looked too wide now.
|
|
I checked the measurements of the real car and they matched
with the narrow version. 1969 Camaro is a long and narrow car.
I didn't want to reverse the process to make the car narrow again.
Instead, I changed the car to something that would match with the
new measurements. I wanted to make something from Mopar because the
Mustang is from Ford and the Corvette from GM.
So, I built Dodge Challenger 1970.

I made the rear part still one stud longer.
|
I really like the design of the 1970 Dodge Challenger.
The only thing that I don't like is the short rear end.
So, I used the same principle that I use when making comics:
I don't draw an object the way it looks in reality but in the
way it should look. I think the rear looks much better this way.

Because of the long rear part the trunk is very roomy.

I didn't build the Hemi engine but used the Camaro's smaller 302.
I had to lower it a little to make the hood close and added the battery
and the master brake cylinder.

Lifting the rear is very easy. The system is the same as in the Camaro set.
